I come up with topics from everyday life. I have a weird view of the world. Sometimes it's pretty cool what God shows me, other times it's pretty dumb what I am seeing myself. You decide.

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
~ Isaiah 40:29, NLT
Let me ask you a stupid question: "Have you ever felt powerless or weak? Of course you have, I mean we are all human and we have all felt this way. My ex wife's mother died just a few weeks ago, my kids and Mary went up to Norman Oklahoma to be with her and her family before she died. I, being the EX Husband, just stayed here and prayed. I have only felt this helpless one other time in my life, when my own mother died a year and a half ago. It hurt, imagining how much pain and loss this family was feeling. I felt so powerless, there was nothing I could do . I was the ex brother-in-law, the ex son-in-law, I felt like the outcast of the family, but I hurt too. Maude Whaley Graham was one of the sweetest, nicest people I ever knew, she made me welcomed in her family, and I felt like her son every-time we visited. I miss her, also, but was not close enough to the family because of divorce, to be there. I sent a sympathy card to the family, that is all I could do. Powerless, it is a awful feeling.
My niece has not had a job in a very long time. She has a Masters Degree in teaching, and cannot, it seems, get hired anywhere. God has provided, and provided, and spoken to her through others and directly to her, that He will provide, and He has a plan. But she does not see that plan, and "God, it has been a long time, where is the job, the plan, your will?", I am sure this is how she feels. Powerless, she is doing everything she can, filling out applications, going on interviews, doing her part, but natta. It's like God is shutting the doors even before she gets to them. Do you think she feels powerless, depressed, even questioning God, Himself? Sure she does, all she sees is failure.
I don't know God's mind, I do not understand why He does certain things and why He does not do others. It seems sometimes prayers take forever to get answered, but in the end they are answered. God has HIS ways, and they are different then ours. Most of the time, His ways, are over the top, more then we could ever imagine. But, He really loves to teach us patience, doesn't He?
Are you in a situation right now, that has you feeling powerless? Maybe your at the end of your rope, there are situations going on in your life that have you so stressed, so tired, so depressed, that your ready to give up. You feel "Powerless" you feel so weak, how will you go own. The rent is due, no money, the car payment is due, no money, the car needs new tires, no money, the car tags and insurance and safety inspection tag are due, no money. The kids need new clothes new shoes new everything, no money. You have tried to get a better job or a part time job in addition to your low paying job you have now, no results. You lie down at night and are so tired, so weak because all this stress, how will you go on? You cry out to God: "Do you see this? Don't you understand what is going own in my life? Why do you ignore my pleas?" Your powerless to do anything about your situations, you give up, your so weak you cannot go own anymore, something has to change. Then through the night, you get a very restful sleep, your recharged, you feel pretty good the next morning. Nothing has changed, but you feel better. You still don't know how things are going to work out,but all of a sudden is doesn't matter as much. What happened? God gave you power and strength while you slept. He came while you were sleeping and made sure you slept well, that your mind was renewed, that your outlook was refreshed. He gave you a assurance deep down in your self, that He would work things out for you. I am not saying that by bedtime tonight you may be going through the same thing, but I am saying He will refresh you again and do the same thing in you. And, HE WILL answer your prayers, your problems in HIS time, which is always Just in time.
Philippians 4:13
New Living Translation (NLT)
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
I used to wonder about this scripture, I mean what was Paul saying? I that is I can do everything? Wow, talk about conceited! NO, I can do everything THROUGH CHRIST, WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH.
If we try by ourselves, we will fail everything, guaranteed. BUT if we take the strength that Jesus Christ offers, and try it with His STRENGTH guess what? Nothing is impossible, NOT through OUR strength, but through HIS.
So, if you have ever felt powerless and extremely weak because of circumstances in your life, the your not alone, by a long shot. But, it is not our strength you have to rely on, it is Jesus Christ' strength. This is the same Jesus Christ who conquered death, Hell and the grave. He went to Hell and took the keys of death, hell, and the grave away from Satan, and I am sure Satan did not want to give them up easily. But because Jesus had defeated death, Satan was over powered very easily. THIS is the strength at our disposal, through Jesus Christ.
It is very easy to be weak, to feel depressed, to feel down, to worry, to not get any sleep. It is very easy to give into these emotions, and feelings. It is human nature to try and solve problems ourselves, to come up with ideas from ourselves to solve our situations. But our strength is very limited, we wear out so fast, it effects our physical body our minds, our life, our relationships. BUT the good news is, we don't have to depend on our own strength, Jesus Christ has enough for everyone in the world, and even more. Yes, I am weak at times, I have felt powerless many times, and as a "last resort" taken Jesus' strength. It is time I/WE stop seeing God as our "Last Resort". God should be our first thought.
God, forgive me for putting you last, and not first. Forgive me for trying to do "IT" on my own strength, and not yours. You will not stop me from trying on my own, because you want me to give up and ask you for help. I am a selfish, stingy, conceited person, Lord, and I need you everyday. Please forgive me and let me start anew with your help.
He will give " power to the weak, and strength to the powerless" I am pretty sure that includes everyone of us. So go ahead, accept His power and strength, you won't be sorry.
